Along with their Bible Gallery, Foster's Pictures
of English Landscape, & Millais's Twenty India Proofs to
the Parables, this sumptuous volume of Walker's & Pinwell's
best illustrative work was produced by the Dalziels "perhaps aware that
their heyday was over and seeking to preserve the high points of their
achievement in permanent form" (Ray p.96). It is difficult to
find publishing gems like these nowadays. It is a good investment
as well since its value will surely go up given a few years, in effect
earning you savings
in the long run.
