LETTER SIGNED. Unpublished ALS to "Dear Scotus" (William Bell
Scott), written on handmade stationery, dated merely Friday at 2:30
[probably 1870s when WBS lived in Chelsea]. Rossetti 1st wrote to
Scott in 1847, & the latter became one of DGR's few lifelong
friends. One side, approx. 50 words, signed "DG Rossetti."
Near-Fine (2 horizontal folds, & the tiny stamp of K.J. Turner to
blank verso). (Inv. #857) C$800

Surtees 521), written from 16 Cheyne Walk on Sunday [ca. Jan.
1879], discussing the cold weather, a photograph & pencil drawing,
& Fanny Kemble & her Record of a Girlhood ("one of the
best books woman ever wrote I believe"). Four sides, approx. 175
words, signed "Your affecte. friend DG Rossetti." Very Good
