Fraser, etc., & literary contributions by MacDonald, William Allingham, Jean Ingelow, Matthew Browne (W.B. Rands), etc., +several unpaginated wood engraved plates.  This vol., the 4th in the series, contains the Nov. 1871 thru Oct. 1872 monthly issues, & also includes the 1st printings of MacDonald's "The Wind and the Moon," "The Foolish Harebell" & "The Snow Fight," & Rands's "Innocents' Island."  Inscribed to 1st blank: "Edith Alice Hebden from dear Grandpapa & Grandmamma, Xmas 1872."  Binding Good (repaired splits to spine cloth w/minor loss, fr. hinge mended, & ep.s browned); contents Good (plates foxed, short closed tears & moderate fore-edge loss to a few leaves, & final leaf lacking).  White 77-79, Bulloch 701, Reid 91, Fredeman 93.30, Shaberman 40 (v-viii), de Beaumont 207d, Goldman p.286.  (Inv. #745)  C$500
